The challenge

As a rapidly growing business working with high hazard materials, Wescom is focused on embedding a proactive safety culture across all its sites around the world. They needed support to understand the current reality, define their safety culture aspiration and shape their safety culture journey.

Our solution

We are supporting Wescom on their whole culture change journey. Starting with desk research, a base line survey, and discovery interviews with leaders across the business to understand the current culture and inform a culture change strategy development workshop with the senior leadership team.

We developed their culture change narrative and engaged colleagues from around the world in development of their life saving rules.

We have developed, piloted and trained trainers in a bespoke Wescom safety leadership masterclass to engage leaders at all levels in the essential role they play in enabling a proactive safety culture.   We then equipped leaders with tools to engage their own teams through conversations about their high consequence hazards.

The outcome

The cultural change journey is underway and gaining momentum throughout 2025. A repeat of the cultural base line will focus on leading indicators including leadership behaviours and conversations, against which we will be able to measure progress.
