We are pleased to mark this year’s World Day for Safety and Health at Work by winning the Best Health and Safety Project of the Year at the SHE awards 2023. The award recognises the success of our global safety culture programme with Hitachi Rail, Safety Starts with Me.

For the last two years, we have been working with Hitachi Rail to support its safety culture change journey. The aim is to embed a consistently high reliability safety culture across the organisation.

Safety Starts with Me continues to engage leaders and colleagues from across Hitachi Rail’s global network in safety conversations, helping them to consider the personal steps they can take to reduce safety risks in their work.

Hitachi Rail’s Global Head of Health, Safety and Environment summarised the programme:

“Be Safe, Safety Starts with Me is our global safety improvement plan. Across the world, thousands of people in our business have been doing their bit to make a difference every day.
