Putting the learning back into eLearning

HSE, equality and diversity, business continuity, cyber security, performance management, leadership…

…those elearning programmes are stacking up on your Learning Management System and you are fast running out of time to get them done. You know you should have put 30 minutes aside as each one came in, but now you face a day of back-to-back deathly dull elearning to remain compliant and keep your learning up to date (and avoid a dressing down from your boss!).

So, why has it come to this? And why is it the same every year?

There’s a good chance it’s because the so-called eLearning is actually nothing more than an online ‘wall of words’; digital page-turning, which has become a tedious tick-box exercise rather than an engaging learning experience. If you’re simply reading and clicking through content, however clever the graphics, you’re not going to get much out of it. Of course, an elearning programme should be visually stimulating to help keep you engaged, but that’s really just the icing on the cake.

To put the learning back into elearning, there are some simple principles that need to be followed. At BB&A, we create elearning programmes that help people learn. To find out more, get in touch today.
