Improving health, safety and wellbeing
Shell: Elevating the Partners in Safety Programme
We have supported Shell for a number of years to develop interactive and engaging conference sessions for its Partners in Safety programme.
Each year, Shell hosts three one-day events for c.500 CEOs from its global shipping partners to facilitate increased health and safety in the maritime industry through its highly successful Partners in Safety (PinS) programme.
Shell needed help with a different, more engaging approach to its regional conferences to really open participants’ eyes to observing safety differently.
Our solution
We applied our active learning approach to create sessions that enable in-depth discussions, learning and ideas for action.
Interactive activities and a suite of videos that shared the successes of the past with the challenges of the future, brought the voice of
the crew to the conferences and shared new concepts on ‘Human Performance’ and its part in maritime safety.
The outcome
Through its dedication to improving safety performance, the Partners in Safety programme has seen a dramatic decline in the number of serious or potentially serious incidents from one every seven days to one every 43 days.
“My most sincere thanks for ALL of your fine efforts in putting together the Human Performance Video!!! It really turned out well, quite frankly exceeding my expectations. I was so impressed with how you guys took our write up and turned it into this great piece of work.”
